Both are great fish my favorite is Dovii.

I belive id choose the Dovii as it looks better IMO than the Umbee.

I would choose Umbee, I have had both, I like both, but if I had to choose it would be Umbee. They look better IMO and are more personalble...

I cant comment on either as i havent owned a Dovii or Umbee but i must say im keeping a close eye on this thread as you never know i might get one in the future .

I'd go umbee, just because I think they're a better looking fish when full-grown.

Ah yes. The age old question. Both are big, beautiful, powerful brutes. I have both and could never choose between them.
Dovii get a little bigger. Umbees colors are a little flashier. When it comes to personality, they're dead even. Both are prime-time. My largest dovii, Juan (~19"), claims a perimeter well beyond his tank, having literally soaked passersby on numerous occasions; usually my wife. He's absolutely balls-to-the-wall nuts. He breaks water when I feed him. He's like a commando on amphetamines. My largest umbee is equally interactive.
In the end, it all comes down to personal preference. Both are great wet pets. Like I said, I could never choose between them.
