Dovii Paradise!

I had the opportunity to fish in southeastern Nicaragua this week and caught some huge Dovii cichlids on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. All fish released other than a couple small ones I put in the lodge aquarium where they promptly ate the small baitfish that were in there. Really beautiful place and great fishing if you could make really accurate casts.

Do you have any idea of the approximate territory size of big Dovii? Did you ever catch 2 large males in close proximity to each other?

Probably, but you might not have any room for water.

Not sure on the territory size, but never saw two mature males together.
