Good looking guy. Is he in a tank by himself?

Thank you an no not at the moment he’s in with to smaller dovii while there big enough to sex an a smaller jag ,but the jag is going back to the lfs this week

How are they getting along?

The large dovii in the picture shows he’s dominant in the tank but the jags starting to put on size also , so before ww3 starts am taking the jag out for that reason , the other 2 dovii I’ve built little caves with the rock so when he’s out an about they can get out his way an he can’t follow

Interesting. I have a grow out tank with a Dovii, jag, and few other Central American cichlids. They are all around 3”-4” right now and get along for the most part. Just curious how big they will be when I have to start rehoming from aggression/size.

My dovii was around the 8 inch mark when it started to become territorial . It was shy when around the 3 inch mark maybe someone with more experienced could answer for you . I also think it depends on sex of the fish

Just a quick update my dovii final tank made a appearance out my garage today ,mind the mucky glass nO water or not cleaned yet
