My boy blue has finally come out of his shell. he is almost 12 inches now and to be honest i never thought i would see what a true glass banging dovii was. It happened out of the blue on a random day i was just cleaning the glass with the algae scraper and he started going nuts. then i put my hand up to the glass and he started attacking me. he use to be so shy scared even and now hes what everyone talks about.Hes stills cared when i syphon but now i can see what power he truely has, the way he bangs at the glass when i just walk by the tank, its impressive

Your telling me. It seems to have taken for ever or my nicaraguans just to reach 4-5" and now costa rican fry at 1" that i cant wait to see my large male out of there. *Sigh* good to see you finally reached that point.

Good to hear, who doesn't love a glass banging dovii? I'm really considering a dovii for my next growout when my ATF outgrows this tank. What's the growth rate been like on yours, how long have you had him and what size tank is he in now? Just curious as to if they're more secure in a smaller or larger area as they're growing. I know some types of predators are spooked if you give them too large of a tank when they're still smaller.

Get ready for a hand full! I cant go near my tank scared he.will hurt him self lol

Iv had him since he was an inch long. He's a year and a half an is 12 inches. First had him in a 75 community now he's in a 130. He should be a bit bigger but he was the smallest and the most subordinate fish in the 75. Now he's all by himself and loving it
