In that size tank, any tank mates will only be temporary.

I can still get some beaut CA cichlids though.

I'm not a fan of single-fish tanks. If I had other tanks I could do communitys then yes i'd get it what ever. But the dovii I am looking at is in the safe hands of Greenterra. He's gonna hold onto it so I got some time to get another 6' tank :p

Lach, if I did get a Dovii. Is there anything that would go with it. The max amount of room I can get a tank (expenses :irked:) Is 10' x 4'. If I did get that tank what could I put with it. I've heard of cichla being kept with em.

He is about 15 inches, he has 2 females in there, both over 11 inches, 8 clown loaches and 2 large royals..............fluke?

I love how you know about dovi...........you ever keep one?

Oh, ok lach, I now see you are a dovi expert

Take advice from someone how has not kept the fish or someone that has had this last group, 5 in total from fishfarm (Ken Davis) for over a year, and had numerous dovi in the past.

Should be pretty easy decision.

Not to step on anyones toes or fins but its been said over and over each fish is different and yes there is a general guide to follow. Some people have dovii that bang the glass at the sight of anything that breathes and other will set back and hide until no-one is in the general area of the tank. Key thing here Eric is first off make sure you have tank size to house a full size dovii AND tankmates(or at least a sub-adult if your start with 2''ers). And as far as tankmates do the research (just as you are now) proceed with caution when making a selection and monitor them. After awhile you will know what will go and what will not. Good luck!!!
