thats funny because my female jag only has 1 tooth now at about 7-8" there is however scratch makrs all over the logs inside the tank

Hey Flexxx you know you could answer all your questions with just ONE thread. You have like 4 or 5 about the Dovii in a row just ask the questions you want answered in one thread. No big deal but it keeps the forum a little neater and not Threads Bonanza all over. Ya know.
Yes they should be coming in now or maybe 6". They should already be present but if your Dovii is like my Female Managuense who like to bite rocks then you won't be seeing teeth for a while. She always breaks her teeth and I don't know why she does it.
Teeth are no way to tell if its male or female and at that size its impossible to tell sex.
As for the teeth thing I have a female dovii at 4 inches and her teeth are more prominent than my males were when he was 4 inches.
Another thing is dovii teeth are always changing due to them wearing their teeth down from digging or glass banging or even from biting other fish.
I notice this with my male who is 8 inches now. His teeth seem to get to a menacing look then seem to wear down then grow out again.
Trust me , if you pull the lip down you will be suprised at the size of the teeth.
lol i'm not basing its sex on his teeth, i'm basing it on hes got his blues, hes got teh peeper spots above and below his alter line already and is the largest out of the group, i'
m saing i havnt seen a dovii show this much color at such a small size

So I assume this would apply to all parachromis? I have some freddys growing out between 2-5" and they don't have all their teeth. Do they grow in one at a time like baby teeth?
