Dovii vs Black nasty

I have no experience with Dovii but my Haitiensis wasn't very aggressive but he had a great personality

Im not sure about a black nasty but from my experience with dovii their part satan part fish had a male that took out out a female texas after spawning three times with her and two female blood parrot a convict and about three other fish plus a 5 inch iridescent shark which he also ate quik style and also put teeth marks in the handle of a algae scrapper but he was one of my favorite cichlids aslo had a female a while back that bit my hand while removing her from a hundred gallon with a net but if it ain't mean and pretty I dont want it

Aggression, dovii for sure. Haitiensis are not that "nasty" as most say. They can be bullies, but not killers IME.

Personality? Probably Haitiensis.


However, both personalities are very different. Haitiensis is more lovable ;) - Dovii aren't so nice, would happily chew you up.
 
dovii for sure, i have both, the haitiensis are only about 2-3 inches but at this size my male dovii had already killed off his other 2 siblings in a 90 gallon tank
 
Personality wise I like the bigger parachromis species like dovii. Temperament varies from fish to fish forreal.

I don't like the fear of bloat with nasties.

I might be able to help you with the bloat issues in haits;) not to mention I have two batches doing excellent right now. Both batches are defying the bloat fears:)
