I don't understand what's so impressive, the rhom took a chunk out of it and the dovii didn't fight back?

No offense, but that doesn't really qualify as having a set. It didn't cower in the the corner like a ***** no, but it didn't fight back.

I put a dovii in with a snakehead to see if this particularly aggressive channa would accept a tankmate, and in this case the dovii actually fought back but got killed in the process.

What happened afterwards? Was the dovii removed and given to the friend straight away or?

I divided the tank and my buddy came down that night and picked up the Dovi. I know I have been flammed on about every fish forum on the world wide webz for this video but I blame tat2punk for his editing lol. The bell ringing like the start of the fight really seemed to get peoples blood boiling. IMO the Dovi was the more agressive fish and the Rhom would have maybe eaten the Dovi later if left alone but to this day I think I could have housed a large nonagressive fish outside of the pirahna family with him. That rhom really was not all that mean. I had a small texas with him for awhile. If the rhom was well fed he would leave other fish alone. Why fight for food when you can take easy food AKA shrimp. On the other hand he was not a fan of being picked on and gave the Dovi many many warnings and finally gave the Dovi a nip.

Any how thats my story and I'm sticking to it. :chillpill:

As already stated it seams a bit sad that the bloke had his camera ready for it he obviously want to film some sort of carnage a bit sad really. If it was a boxing match well Rom wins on points I suppose but then again a very boring sad video. I do however think it would have been a different story if they had been left to there own devises over the next few days. I had a Black Piranha a few years ago when I was going through the Piranha faze and all I can say is Good luck finding a tank mate for a Rohm. That was nearly as friendly as my red snakehead. The video is lame and a waste of time the bloke is such a retard that he has had to put Piranha on his tank so he can remember what fish he has in it. I bet he has Cabriolet down the side of his convertible in huge letter as well. What a:swear: ER

Ok thats a good post. He has me pegged. Here is the proof, a picture of my car.

There is no way that fish would have killed that Rhom. I have 2 Black Rhoms and NOTHING will live in my tank. I can see a snakehead killing my rhomb if it was around the same size. Theres nothing wrong with feeding a black Rhomb that fish. He should have let that rhomb finish him off.

Holy throwing gas on the fire batman

Also for all of you saying why would he have a camera ready to go? Check the veiws on this thread and threads like this one. If I did this and posted my story VS a video everyone would have been screaming you should have got it on vid.

^ true.. but why the hell would you do that?

there are fish that have bad tempers and there is fish that have extreme teeth.. its nothing more to it.. imo..

I seriously didn't see any way that that dovii got owned at all! He wasn't even really going after the other fish. I've had them for years and believe me anyone who owns them and has seen one go postal will tell you that that was not it. It was a little scuffle AT MOST. He barely even reacted to getting bit and didn't cower at all. Let's be real. The personality has as much to do with who wins in a death match beteen fish. Also territory and having a mate play into it too. Then there is raw power and tools when it comes to who wins in a fight. Hands down dovii have the "equipment", size and jaw strength to shred one of them fish if it wanted. Now that being said I will admit that my last and by far favorite wolf of all time was a 20" woosy that got punked down by my elderly Jag all it's life. But that was his personality. It happens. There is no clear winner whenever these kind of discussions happen. To this day the meanest baddest sickest killer I ever had was a Myan (false red terror). He was such an a-hole that I almost snapped his spine myself. I got ris of him but I swear to god I hated him so much it wasn't even funny. My second most viscous killer was a jag-but i've raised probably 20 jags to full grown status and he was the only crazy one. Ya just never know. I even had a red terror in my 800 with all HUGE fish and he killed a snakehead 10" bigger than him and a month later got beat up by my alpha-male redhead who was the same size as him. Again. ya just never know. I personally hate when fish fight and always try and avoid it at all costs.

I was just reading through the comments and I had to LOL at the bold print!!:ROFL:
