dovii x jag fry!! what do i do now??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh I know mislabeling does occur that's why you tell your Lfs and to strictly enforce correct labeling and make sure they do it in front of you but in my experience my Lfs thought a Honduran jag was a regular jag so I lucked out loll

Yeah, LFS are terrible at it, which is why I would never distribute/sell my hybrids to them, unless I really trust them. Out of all the shops around Brissie, I trust one, because I've seen him have hybrids before and each and everyone was labeled correctly (or so it would seem anyways). Some of the larger stores around me are horrible. They can't even label purebreds properly, so no chance in hell am I passing on to them a hybrid (besides stuff like flowerhorns and BPs, maybe). ><"

keep them!! i dont understand why in heck you would use them as feeders that dovi x jag looks gorgeous

im not using them as feeders. if anyone wants fry pm me.

In that case you can probably to separate most of them into a different tank (leave some fry for the parents to care just in case, plus that would prevent the parents from going rambo on each other). This way you won't have to worry about any possibility of the parents eating the fry. You can feed them crushed up fish food and they'll be alright.

I'd grow em out. At least a few. Though, you may have to take the feeder route if they keep spawning. There's really not a good way to get rid of thousands of hybrid fish. There's only so many 16" fish that can be bought in an area. Luckily for you, fish don't have much going for them in the long term memory department, so you could probably separate the fry, and after a week or so put them back with the parents. Parents will get high quality food, and you'll save a little money.
