Dovii X Red Point?

What's up Gruff, good to hear from you. I agree that these are going to be weird if they do figure it out, and to be honest I was kind of hoping that any cross breeding would have involved the much closer related Jag, but it's their prerogative. (The Jag is honduran and it would have looked pretty cool mixed with the costa rican dovii.) As it stands these two couldn't look any more different, which I guess turns them on, and I'm not here to question nature, whatever floats your boat. If they do produce I will be sure to follow up though, and since I won't be raising all of them I can donate some to anybody who would want one. I got to admit it would be interesting to see the adult version.
It's good to see your post again and its good to see that you still have the Jag. I've never seen this kind of cross and I'm sure many others haven't either. Any resulting fry should be quite...interesting. Make sure you share this with the members in the hybrid forum too.

I will if it works buddy. Remember a short time ago the big tank had a full grown dempsey trying to breed with a female dovii and it never worked out. They did the dance every three weeks for a year and couldn't figure it out. I'm still convinced the dempsey was sterile. Until I get some fry swimming I'm just going to try and not think about it. If it happens I'll be pretty excited to own a huge school of what I assume will be ugly jerks, but I'm still jaded when it comes to random hybridizing.

I'm starting to wonder if the little jag sharing the side with the rp is a male. As the rp looks more ready to give it another go they have been lip locking and constantly at each other. The dovii is still doing his dance on his side but it looks more and more like the jag is making a move on the red point. Unless the rp is actually just giving him the 3rd wheel treatment. Anyone have any ideas whether this jag is male? By the way here are the other two as well.
