If your Dovii is from Don Conkel, Im 99% sure its a Costa Rican (thats all hes sold for at least 2 years). The one in thwittle's pic is Nicaraguan if Im not mistaken. Both are beautiful...but IME the Costa Ricans are quite a bit meaner at an earlier age. My 3 inch male is already trying to take over 1/2 my tank from several other fish 4 times his size, the Nic being one of them & is about 3 inches bigger.

Are the costa ricans considered a "yellow" morph or variant? Thats what it was labeled as when I bought it, but as stated before his colors are exactly like thwittles avatar. He's mean as hell!

yeah they could be called that the get a nice gold/yellow base

Could some one please explain F0 and f1 to me??
In Australia we don't have the choice but if Nicaraguan Dovii are blue/greenish then maybe that's what we have here.

Ramesh yours is a beautiful adult bodied fish, thanks for posting. Looks a lot like my big Nicaraguan, mine is only 14 inches long.
