Dovii will.more than likely always end in dead or thrashed tankmates. Dont let them fool you when young and timid. One the switch flips theres hardly anything we put in our tanks that can withstand the wrath of a dovii.

Neetroplus with a well covered substrate environment... Maybe Convicts. But always allow for hide outs. Thats my opinion - Neets are the baddest of cichlids that grow to 5" max in males but with the size difference they wouldn't harm the bigger fish and they'd be to fast and ellusive for the Dovii to get them.
Besides a big pleco or a big 8-10" Crayfish, probably not. Only suggest crayfish because my buddy has had one for about a year with a Breeding pair of dovii with a 17" male for about a year now.
Its a baby say 2 inches in with a 6 inch male jag and a 4 inch green terror all is well now in my 200 hoping it lasts.... but I don't want to lose all my fish thinking of adding a butti too
