come on dude. apparently you havent had much experience with dovii huh. that is nothing close to anything other than 100% dovii. definitely no motaguense in there. i have bred dovii on 2 seperate occasions, and as with any fish there will never be 2 that are exactly the same. that is a dovii and any other knowledgeable CA cichlid man/woman will tell you the same. sure it may not be wild or f1 even, but it is pure none the less. just look at some mota pics and youd realize there is no way that could be a cross.

Allright man i am telling you it's a hybrid. I have been keeping and breeding dovii for four years. i have two adult males right now one at 16'' and one at 12'' one is f-1 and i am not sure on the other. However I am also breeding common motaguense, trimacs and haitiensis. So i think I know my fish. I can almost certainly say that these local guys are intentionaly crossing the two species. I found this out from another local breeder who is breeding Herichthys minckleyi, and other extremely rare cichlids. So believe what you want I know I did not want the fish and possibly put hybrids out unintentionally

hybrid or not, its still simply worth whatever your willing to pay for it and how bad you want it.

gr8 looking fish either way. :)

i think it's a great looking fish also, hell if it's the same fish I paid $75 here's pics of both of my adult males. Btw sorry for the derailment

Funny on the old post.. but considering what it would cost to ship a 12" male Dovii I think $100 would be worth it if you could inspect the fish locally.

uh, yeah so since the thread is over 2 years old I think it's safe to say this can be closed :P
