dovvi set up

I'm betting you want a male so the answer is no........You need a tank thats at least 5ft long by 18" wide to get it through its first 2 years then after that a 180 would be the smallest tank for an adult male. Also a dovii male takes alot of detication and time(money) to take care of. Tons of filtration and plenty of water movement is the key to keep this large predator comfortable. My male's tank consist of 2 Hagen 402 Powerheads for flow........2 AC110's and a Magnum 350 for filtration.....Unless you are ready to make that kind of commitment to deticate a large tank to one fish don't do it. GoodLuck.........

so for the first year could a dovii be in a 75 gallon, with a 300 gph powerhead and two ac 500 filters/

Dont mean to sound like a jerk but,get the proper tank then get the fish.
Both you & the fish will be happier that way

Personally I dont think bare min. is proper.
Again not trying to be a jerk,I just hate seeing large fish at petshops because the previous owner got in over there head & couldnt care for there pet

It doesn't matter if we tell you that the dovii will grow horns, throw up blood all over your living room and breed with your dog you are still going to get your dovii put it in a 75 and spam the hell out of the forum asking how much filtration you need for a 2" dovii in a 75.
So have fun...maybe it will go good in this greenhouse pond you have....:screwy:

DITTO

#1 Rule of Fish Keeping. Get the proper tank, then get the fish. Don't start small and then find out you have to go bigger.
