I totally disagree with the above post which is mostly a bunch of bull ****...........Obviously your dovii wasn't getting the proper diet or has poor genes cause my male is 13 months old and already 14"..........

This is the funniest post I've ever read, even the experts here on CA Americans will think your dovii growth is an over-exagerated measurement. Post a pic of you dovii beside a tape measure, BTW you dont have to remove the fish. Just tape a rolling tape measure right above the lip of the frame of tank and it shouldnt be hard for a fish to get close, then take a pic.
Until then dont post something that is full of crap. No one has ever grown a dovii over 18" with a "tape measure" to proved its size, no one....

I have that pic too BTW, Thats the only pic Ive seen of a dovii at 17"-18" proven by a tape measure. Notice I wrote any bigger than 18" from my previous post.

You better read my old post, Ive clearly stated dovii over 18" TL(total length) on my previous post. Ive seen that pic before and to this day there no proven pic of a dovii over 18" TL(total length), again over 18" TL(total length) by a measuring tape of some sort.

And if you want to be particular on that measurement, thats fish is only 15"-15 1/2" standard measurement. Unless were measuring trailers and tail fins as well.

There is a guy in Canada which Mo from aqua mojo has met, and this guy supposedly have a 19" male dovii kept in a 35,000 gallon tank (of some sort) and has kept the fish over 9 years. If you want to know the exact story PM Mo hell tell you.

Overall measurement is from lips to end of tail. Do you measure yourself from knees to neck? Umm NO!..
I have worked in many aquarium shops in OZ, We always included the tail and lips/mouth.
