I has two Dragon Goby's both from Walmart.
One died in about three days and the other lived 4 months before being eaten by my bicher at night while they were both out seeking food.
Cannot say it was a cool fish as it hid 99% of the time and really was only out at night.
The remainder of the time it was in a near comatose state under a rock....
The ones from walmart are usually in terrible condition. They are kept in overcrowded tanks with no hiding place and they are fed improperly. I looked at the fish at my local wallyworld the other day and they had FOUR 8inchers dead and rotting in the middle of a cloud of platys. :irked:
With good care and a few weeks to settle in they should come out more. Mine doesn't like very bright light but in low to moderate light he'll prop up in the open hoping for food or cruise around watching me. He also seems to stretch out in the open for a few hours every evening. They are so pretty when they're healthy :)

As far as the OP, I agree that the clown needs some friends or he won't be happy or calm down. Could make him sick.
I think the mystery cat is probably a pictus, the "sharks" could be a lot of things.
I would NOT add salt. If you want a dragon goby you need marine salt and the current stock will not tolerate that. Adding other salts to the tank is just unnecessary, could stress your fish and as someone said, could help to create resistant diseases. Regular salt won't make brackish water either, so it wouldn't do the goby any good.

Sounds to me like the fish you have will be plenty for a 55. They're gonna grow ;) but you should either add more loaches for that clown or get rid of the one you have, IMO.

That's my vote, and instead get some Botia angelicus, or yoyo-loaches (two different species), they stay rather small, so a small school wouldn't be pushing the stocking capacity of your 55 to it's brim.

the sharks i can't remember for the life of me. they are the closest thing to shark you can get for a fresh water setup but is still techinically a cat fish.they are also known to get very large as well. but thank you for the recomendations. now i want a brackerish setup :(

The ID sharks or pangasius are freshwater. Can't keep them in brackish. Get rid of them before they outgrow your tanks. Anyone who is willing to accommodate them in large ponds will be your best bet.

What's the plan now?

Pangasius catfish are no where near the closest things to sharks in freshwater (that'd be Stingrays and a big leap is sturgean and Bichirs)
Dragon Gobies MUST be in a brackish enviorment to be healthy and as said get rid of the Clown Loach. You cant add a little salt you have to have enough salt to make it brackish(none of that "Aquarium Salt" either.

Just get rid of the Pangasius and the loach and give us pictures of the stock so we can help you and to prevent miscommunication
