Probably any tall profile fish at least 3-4 inches. Lions have huge mouths though. It should also be fast. Lions are ambush predators and are more likely to go after crustaceans.
I’ve read that Maroon clowns have a pretty good shot. Medium sized wrasses or hawk fish should be okay too.
That will depend on the lion. It may try to eat a 6-7in fish. If you have lots of rock work then the will be opportunity for ambush but also for other fish to escape.
I like the damsels but stay away from the black ones. Not sure why but they are always demon possessed a******.
Gonna have to agree with that. Do yellow tails or azures. They won’t harass the lion like a striped or domino, but can fight back if they have to. They also arent rock dwellers from what I know, so they are away from its territory.
definitely not the domino damsels and velvet. They are mean. A second lion could work. I’ve read bettas quickly get eaten.
I’m not sure about the rest. Others could probably weigh in. I think azure damsels are the best bet because they are so cheap, so worst case scenario you didn’t pay 50 dollars for something to be eaten.
how big is the lion right now?As long as whatever you get is big enough not to be eaten now and gets considerably large, it should be ok.
Arc eye hawk - possibly, depends on size at introduction
Leopard wrasse - Yes
Yellow and purple wrasse - smaller wrasse but maybe
Radiant wrasse - maybe
Remember all wrasse are slender fish and while they may reach 5-6in length could still be a prey item for a full grown dwarf lion.
Marine betta - Could work. These do get sizable if they live that long. ORA does produce an aquaculture but you would need to find an LFS that carries ORA as they don't sell direct.
3 spot domino damsel - demon spawn
Gold domino damsel - Prey item but cheap.
Blue velvet damsel - Prey item but cheap.
Azure damsel - Prey item but cheap.
More lionfish - Yes, you could even add the larger lionfish once your dwarf is full grown.
