has anyone kept a dragonfish?? there are some at my LFS and i may pick one up

Do a google search for images of violet goby and see if thats what they are calling a ''dragonfish'' if so they are brackish water species -Anne

I do so hate these stupid commonn names that vary from one area to the next

If you search MFK for Dragon Goby, you will find a pretty extensive write-up I did on them in an old post.

They are a pretty cool fish. Very Interesting IMO.
The problem I have had with them is that they are very passive/timid and difficult to house with more aggressive fish.
By aggressive I mean even cory cats who out compete them for food.
I was raising a 8 inch specimen that was killed by my pleco. It appears that the pleco "ate" the slim off of him.

boring and any "aggresive" fish will kill them

I like them I think there a neat fish. But I guess to each their own.

ive had two of them one was boring and one actually played in the sand ...one which lived in FW for several months and then decided not to eat and another in brackish that i gradually aclimated him to FW and he survived for about a yr until i introduced him to my aggresive tank and i thought he'd be fine in his cave but he got beat up and died
