I have a 5 foot drop... I think I could drain faster if I had a slick hose like that because I imagine that the ribbed inside would slow it a little, but for now I am content...Dan Feller;2849641; said:I use a 1.5" hose to drain my 300 gallon, it drains it down in minutes! I am actually getting rid of the sump because, no matter what, I can not get it exactly how I want it... I am going to make this a closed system (as in, no sump, but only canisters and my HOB).
My main hindrances with the constant water change system are drilling the holes in the wall for draining.
