I think sculpin would be the closest you can get. Being scorpionfish, you would get a similar look and behavior.
If I had a tank the size of a swimming pool I’d probably keep mormyrops (Cornish jack). Doubt I’ll ever have enough room to keep such a large, social fish

The Leafy Sea dragon definitely a dream for me
This is a dark horse, very cool choice. Has anyone ever kept one in private aquaria?
I believe I've seen them in a public aquarium but don't remember.

I normally do freshwater, but my dream fish has always been the Moorish Idol. Definitely in a school in a FOWLR type setup.
I'm leery of ever attempting it because of the expense involved and the many poor outcomes I've heard about keeping them.
