Hey everyone, it's been quite sometime since i've asked or responded to aything on here, i normally just come to read up now a days... However, I recently sold my 220 gallon tank, and have picked up a 150 Gallon. So my footprint has downsized a bit, as well as the length of the tank. I know everyone right off the bat will tell me not to get the silver, unless i can house it for life, which i can't. But i would still like to have it for some time. I'm sure some experiened aro keepers could jump in and tell me maybe how long that could be. But here it goes.

(1)Silver Aro
(1)Ornate Poly
(1)Fire eel
(5-10) Clown Loaches
(1) Teacup stingray sp.

Currently the tank, has a PFS substrate, but i'm looking to maybe mix in some black sand so the color of my CL's won't bleach out. There are 3 smaller-medium sized pieces of driftwood in the tank just in whatever space they landed in when i threw them in. And so far that's about it. The tank is filtered by 2 AC 110's and is currently lit by a P.o.S. t8 30" fixture that is soon to be replaced. More than anything i'm concerned about my clown loaches being eaten by the aro, the loaches killing the ray, or even the poly eating the eel...lol.... Let me hear your guys' input and i'll answer any more tank questions you have as quickly as you can...

For you guys that are going to criticize right off the bat, i'm up to suggestions on other stock....however i would rather NOT get rid of my loach group... and my girlfriend is set on this ray....

the aro can stay in that foot print for about a year (starting at 6" basic size sold) and thats still pushing it.

my lfs, can get them at 3-4" but even then, ive heard that they grow faster when smaller and once they peak out at about 18" then they slow down on the growth...

and as for the size...i'm at work right now and don't remember exact dimensions but i believe its only 18" wide, and more around 6 feet long

I don't know much about stingrays, most people don't so I'd suggest posting in the stingray section about that one.
An aro is a lot too big for that tank. A fire eel could be in there a very long time, but max sizes vary so I can't say if it's enough for life. If you're lucky it is. The others will easily fit in there.

The aro I've been wanting forever.... that's a shame it's only a year... I didn't go to the stingrays and aro forum be cause I wanted to ask in general first.... but if I can't get enough info I'll narrow my posts down....

The fire eel, aro, and stingray will all outgrow that tank!!! The aro will outgrow in a year.. The fire eel in two years... And the stingray might be good for three years.. These estimates are based on research not experience..

Fire eels get 24-30 inches
Aros get 30-36inches
And depending on what your LFS is selling as a teacup (probably a retic) they get 16-18 inches.
