as most of you know tank is 300 gal right now it has a jag, jd, 8 silver dollars, and a spotted raphael. eventually i would like to add a midas and at least two pikes (hopefully a pair of lents or marms emphasis on lents). more than likely i will be adding more silver dollars, but i would also like another cichlid or two. any ideas? nothing too aggressive there should be plenty of that anyway. but it would obviously need to hold its own. bring it on fellas. oh yeah prefferably not something too common.

lookin for somethin less common and probably a single specimen the only paired fish in the tank will probably be the pikes i am open to non cichlids also but it must be interesting and non schooling

On the less aggressive side, how about some purple choclate cichlids (Rapps has them in stock last I checked). Or maybe some of the newer severum variants (red head, etc.). Perhaps even some wild caught Oscars (they're not very common anymore).

There are a lot more exotic stuff that you could get, but I know these guys are pretty good temperament wise.

I think Rapps has everything mentioned in stock now... and no, I don't get any kickbacks !

How bout some tinfoil barbs? Gotta love the TFs!

Good luck on whatever you decide.

the hourandan red p[oint cons look nice! i kno u dont want a pair but it will give the other fish something to eat and the cons will look nice red points look realy nice! blue with red!= very nice!

or a nice FH i kno u didnt want much aggresion but come on it is a FH! and you can just pack that thing even more with SD's!

ive thought about the chocolates and the bocourti is nice ive looked into viejas geos the list goes on ive always dug severums im just worried that alot of these choices would get murdered any thoughts

Are you wanting a certain color and want to stick with cichlids. If you want some blue and red, I am particular with the Vieja Zonatus or Vieja Argentea which is whitish with black speckling.
I have both with my pikes they are about 3-4 inches right now.
Here is a couple of photos.
