I have a dozen feeder guppies runnin' through it.

I agree. It's fungus but should disappear soon enough. If your driftwood is from fruit trees or is a grapevine, I would get rid of it.

The dark brown/light brown mixed colored driftwood IME does well in the tank. Ive had one in my tanks for over 5 years looks great and never gave me problems with that white fuzz it just leached tannins for months on end. Adding a dose of fungus guard may help kill it out as well :)

What's wrong with driftwood from fruit trees or grapevines?

it releases toxins in the water-thats why ppl dont use wood from fruit trees and grapevines.

Grapewood has toxins? What kind of toxins? That's funny cause I have had a bunch of grapewood in 2 of my tanks for over 3 years and have had no problems, my plecos even eat it. I think somebody is giving bad advice out there.
