Drift wood

Grape wood doesnt necessarily release toxins so much as it tends to break down pretty fast.
 
Don't worry about the white film. Someone said it was fungus, and that is true, but it's not a problem In fact, plecos eat it and usually can't get enough. It can be an eye sore though, so get rid of it if you like, but don't worry about it affecting fish health.
 
I've gotten the white film. It's no biggy.

This toxic driftwood thing is new to me though. I have a nice sized hollow piece of driftwood that I was going to put in my tank tonight for breeding purposes.
But now I dont know. I have no Idea what kind of wood it is. It's one I've never used before.
