I typically like to soak mine in very hot water for about a week to get the brown out. (sorry I hate always trying to figure out how to spell that T word)

you talkin about tannin? or whatever that thing is called, if so, what is that thing anyways? what does it do? is it bad?
 
to make the wood sink fast. you gotta soak it in hot/warm water 24/7 till it sinks. the warm water helps opens pores so water can penatrate thru the wood so that it can sink.

and the tanning is not bad. its actually benefits the fish mimicking its natural habitat in the wild. some people hate the tanning some people like it. i personally like it.

How would i soak it in 24/7? haha.. just keep the faucet running?thats alot of water wasted if i keep the faucet running.. I noticed when I soaked it in hot water compared to cold water, I saw bubbles comming out of the wood probably because its soaking it well.

its in a bucket right now..i put hot water to begin with but after the hour it aint too hot no more.. so i was wondering as of having it in HOT water 24/7, thats what i was wondering..

not 24/7. What they do is boil water and pour it in if its too big for a stove
you can do it a few times...

in the hot summer you can leave it outside in a big container. but since its still cold. you can put it in your tank that is heated. thats what i did. leave it in my tank since its always warm and it sunk pretty fast.
