Looking at reworking one of my CA/SA tanks and went to buy driftwood and some bigger rocks but they were asking for some ridiculous prices. Can I just boil down some local wood and rocks that I have locally to make them safe to put in my tank. Where do you all get your big rocks and pieces of driftwood/ decorations from?

thats all I do. my tank is local wood/rocks, boiled as many times as you see satisfactory to remove any toxins or germs.
The only thing I do buy is those fake plants for reptiles, because they cost the same price as fish plants, but are upto 3x bigger and much better quality.

For rocks I just use local(granite, slate) or larger river rocks. I boil 'em if I can or pressure wash them. As far as wood, look for other aquarists selling their larger pieces or look for hardwoods to collect and pressure wash them and presoak them before putting them in your tank.
