driftwood plants?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Anubias, java fern, java moss. Lots of other mosses. There are more mentioned around the site too if you a search.

What lighting level are we working with? Anubias, java ferns, mosses, bolbitis ferns all will attach easy, and are low light, low tech setup plants.

Instead of that buy a 48" compact flourescent. You may spend more for the fixture, but less long term on electricity. Also, you will be able to have mid to high wattage plants, and slightly faster growth.

Hey I just read that you can attach ricca fluitans (crystal wort) to a piece of driftwood or a rock by placing a hairnet over it for a while. Its a floating plant but if you leave it long enough it will attach itself to the object. Haven't tried it yet but am about to seeing as how i have tons of it growing at the top of the tank.

That is affordable. How often do the bulbs need changed on compacts? If once a year, that could be costly!
Both fluorescents and compact fluorescents should be changed once every year, even though the bulb isn't burnt out. They begin to loose their effectiveness beyond a year.
