So I bought a gorgeous piece of 4 ft drift wood and the damn thing won't sink. I know its not uncommon but I've never dealt with it before personally. If you've experienced this how long until it sank or is there a way to speed up the process? It's holding up my aqua scape ideas hahah

I've got 2 pieces that have teen submerged since January that still won't sink. Nothing a few strategically placed rocks won't handle though.

Some pieces may take years to become waterlogged enough to sink.

I've read that you're supposed to boil all of that stuff before you toss it in... you know, in your four foot pot you keep for special occasions.

Put a screw through a piece of floor tile. Then screw that into the bottom of the driftwood. You now have a base for your driftwood. Put that in your aquarium, put some substrate/gravel/sand over the tile to cover it up so it looks like your driftwood is just in the sand. Now put a couple good and heavy rocks on top of the slate that is buried under the substrate so that it can't float. Bigger driftwood, you'll need bigger rocks.
