Driftwood question

This white fuzz appears on only certain pieces. From my understanding there is no know reason for it. I sell tons of wood to lfs among other things. for wood i sell Malaysian, Mopani, and unknown roots on slate. I've never had this issue with the malaysian or mopani but the roots are like a 1/200 return rate with reasoning white fuzz. I've only ever heard one store say that the fish in that particular aquarium died off. I've never known the fuzz to ever subside.

I got mine piece of wood from a flower shop and it was solid and hard and very dry of course. I soaked it in hot water for little less than a month, changing the water every day at first and then every 3 days. Once the tanninis was almost gone I placed it in the tank and held it down with a couple of rocks. I was changing the position every week and also noticed the white fuzz on it. It didn't have any negative effects on the fish.

I took that piece of driftwood camping and boiled it with salt water over a camp fire. It was in a leaky 32 gal drum and it took about 6 hours.
