Yep, that is the stuff. Use enough to loosly fill the pipe. It's purpose is to let the water trickle through it. This prevents the Niagra Falls gushing sound by letting the water run down it rather than falling directly to the bottom of the pipe. It also contains sound waves inside the pipe from gurgling by forming a 'liquid cap' inside the pipe.Mr Cracker2u;890948; said:Just to get this straight. You are sugesting a straight pipe with a fine nylon mesh/netting like you get at craft stores dangled losely but filling the area of the pipe to create a false water/sound barrier.
Bounce is what we refer to as the water level in the tank to frequently change. I like to keep the surface hidden by the top trim. I just thing aquariums look better this way; I consider bounce to be unacceptable.Mr Cracker2u;890948; said:I am not familiar with what you are refuring to as bounce I gues I have to make *rip off* pipes to educate myself on this......LOL
Play with the hole sizes. Start with the smallest drill bit in your set. Go up in sizes and note the differences from small to large. Note which size of drill bit wherel the bounce stops. Don't glue the cap on. You may want to replace it if you decide the rig is acceptable.
