I have a 150 gal tank its not tempered. Its 1/2 walls with no center supports. It was made this way. I am about to start my drilling but need to know how many 1 inch bulkheads to put it in to handle the 1700gph flow out of my mag 24. I was thinking 4-5 If so where should I drill them and how bad am I compromising the strength of that back tank wall by drilling 4-5 holes in it?

Are you drilling the tank or is a pro doing it? If you are not careful, you can ruin the tank. Ask Chompers for help, he knows how to drill glass.
If your are going to drill than, Get a fine tooth cutter CUt in about HALFWAY. Than drill through the other side. I would practice on a small 10gallon tank first.
Why not use 2x2" bulkheads and put elbows on them, thay should handle the gph. and it wont get clogged.

I think ya missed he's talkin about glass milk. 
2x2" (2.5 inch hole btw) is a great move, they should get ya around 1800gph each, and if (and it will happen) one clogs, you won't have water over fill your tank.

You will need a diamond hole saw.

The Jehnco site was bashing them but I think these are better. Jehmco says their drills will last through 20-? tanks, but my first one has done around 15 and it still looks as new as the others. If you do a lot of drilling you might want to consider the guy in Hong Kong. He can be found on eBay by doing a search for "diamond drills". His drills are a fraction of the cost.
