I need to drill some holes in my plexi glass sump, what is the best way to do that? I havent done it before and just wanted to know as much as possible before I do it.

use a sharp bit and take your time
don't try to force it through

a hole saw works very well. If you can, start on one side and finish it from the other side.
That will keep it from being splintered.

As Mike said, go slow.

Would it help some if I clamp a block of wood to the side that I cant get to? Cause I know I dont have enough room to get at it from both sides.

Certainly wont hurt. I managed to drill my sump from 1 side with nothing on the other side, but I was about as comfortable as a dog ****ting razor blades while drilling.

I think I will actually place and clamp a board on each side, that way I dont move or stress the plexi as much. At least it looks good on paper!

Did you happend to drill any pilot holes first, before hitting it with the hole saw bit?

Nope I just hit it with the guide bit in the hole saw and went at it.

What size are holes are you drilling? If its for bulkheads, I'd use the grit hole saw that is made to cut tile/glass. HD sells them and its about 20 bucks or so.
