Is it possible to drill the bottom of the tank?

Most likely no. Most newer stuff will have a sticker on the bottom that says tempered, but even if it doesn't I would not risk it without knowing for sure. The tempered stuff will literally blow up if you try to drill it.

That's what I wanted to do, but I found out that deep blue professionals has 75g RR tanks for $218 which is a good price to me

I have drilled countless tanks, its not hard to drill thicker tanks. Just be careful not to push your drill through the tank but allow the bit to do its job with minimal pressure. When you press to hard the bit can grab and torque which can blow the hole and destroy the panel your working on. I have found it can go quicker if you rotate the drill (rock in circles) but this has to be done a very small amount. If your not comfortable with the action or don't understand what that means I wouldn't do it. Good luck.

Yeah I would avoid doing the bottom cuz like stated, most tanks I've come across are temperred on the bottom... the whole thing spiders like a car windshield

This terrifies me dustin, I hope it all works out man. You might want to wait for me to be there with a mop. :D

I am not gonna have it drilled full. It is going to be a 2 day thing. I will bring 2 big plastic stock tanks from work and drain the water and put everything in those two tanks including heaters and powerheads. Then we will put the tank on its side and drill it. Silicone in all the necessary stuff like overflows and bulkheads and all that. Let it dry for a for the rest of the day and night and the next day put it back together. Simple really :screwy:

Yea, remember how I said I would come down?

I take that back, sounds like hell.

Ha no but really you are going to need as much help as you can get. You owe me some dirt cheap rhombos for this though. :D
