drilling topfin tank

I picked up a topfin 150 gallon 48x24x30 and im curious if anybody knows if they are tempered on the sides or not

Not sure, but consider this before you drill... Top Fin tanks used to carry a lifetime warranty if you used their stand. If you got this from Petsmart you likely received it as the stand tank combo. If it still carries the same warranty you will void it if you drill it.

The reason I mention the warranty is because I had a 120g Top Fin crack its frame. Two years after buying the tank I called the store and they had me return it with a choice of a FULL refund. So I would think twice about drilling if they still warranty the product the same.

I would rather not drill but i dont like the idea of a siphon overflow possibly failing

I'm 95% sure the bottom is tempered but the sides aren't.

Just got back from the glass shop and hes pretty sure its tempered.

So im looking for the best siphon overflow i can get. Any ideas. I dont want to rely on an aqualift pump

I have an eshopps 1800 and it works great. What I have is 2 u tubes so if one does loose syphon the other will keep it from overflowing atleast until I get home to look at the tank.
