Are you in Minnesota or Kansas? To test for chloramines, add chlorine neutralizer to a sample of your tap water. Then test it for ammonia. If ammonia is present then it is treated with chloramines. Also test it for nitrates. That is an indicator that the city's water source contains organic compounds which means the likelyhood of the presence of polychloramines. Well water frequently contains nitrates if the ground water flows through an area that has an extensive history of cattle farming. (Also older homes with a well near or down stream of a septic field.)
