Drip System for Stingrays

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
so far no fights.... just abit of flaring from my red aro.

You're welcome bro! I'm confident people who dont use sediment filters will be MUCH happier even if they didn't know they needed it.

We spend so much on rays and food, why not give em the best filters too. I switched mine last night after two weeks and it was nasty!

Its horrible. My city is building a new highway not far from my house and it is causing ridiculous amounts of sediment. I never had an issue until they started construction.

My sediment filters are starting to turn yellow/brown so i deff have crap in my water. Also since i added these all of my tanks have turned crystal crystal clear.

Thanks JK!

Don't you run the 5 micron whole house filters? They turn color too..... ;)

Or are you running lower then 5 micron sediments?

The carbon filters i bought last time were on sale at menerds and it dosnt look like they have a sediment filter built in. I remember my old ones did but i havent ran those in a long time

I buy mine at Menards. Dupont whole house carbon filters. IF you look down inside them, they're white 5 micron sediment before the carbon. ;)

Regardless, I'm sure you can still catch a bunch of crap before it hits your filters using sediments as pre filters, especially if running 1 micron.

Wonder if 1 micron sediments would affect TDS? Dang. Now I'm going to have to go get some.... lol

The carbon filters i have are omnifilter t01 and they say to be 5 micron and do have a sediment filter? But the inside looks black... If they do filter sediment i dont think they are doing very well

The sediment filters i got say 30 micron. Should i be looking for an even finer one?

My water quality seems to have changed since i added these sediment filters, and my pups started eating again

Keep in mind when running carbon filters they are doing exactly what carbon does and absorb things. The smaller micron you get down to with a cheap sediment filter, the longer your carbon filters will ladt and more efficiently at that. When I was running carbon amd before the construction issue I was shocked at the difference.
