Drip system update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I set one up a week ago and it seems to be running fine, iv got a 6'3'2 tank and im running a 2.3 lph drip so about 386L every week i was thinking about going up to 4 lph 672L per week do you guys think that would be to much? Thanks for the great idea too.

Thomas

I would go ahead and run the 4LPH emitter. That's what I'm using on my 265

thats great news levi . I just have a question if you get chlorine or chloramine in your area?
If its chloramine then i guess the slow drip helps dissippate it.. but im not sure about chloramine.

Ive wanted to do the drip system for more than a year now ( Neo has been telling me to try it ) but i always been hesitant due to the fact that NJ has chloramines and we have bad stuff coming out of our tap water..

we dont have chloramine, but we do have chlorine. The carbon filter removes the chlorine though. I'm still trying to come up with a way to make the drip work for the guys with chloramine without having to buy a an expensive filter.
Maybe a medication dosing pump with some chloramine remover?

I love the idea and plan to incorporate it into my smaller tanks. I'm figuring out how to set up something similar for those with canisters and HOB's. I'm thinking of using a drip emitter to control the output and a tank top off to control the input.

When I get home tonight Ill post the link to the filter cartriges that remove chloromines. I use an RO/DI left over from my reef tank, and just swapped the media for this stuff.

Li told me to use a dosing equipment not like IV bags at the hospital. Have the water treatment drop every few seconds ... What do you think ?
