I just couldn't bring myself to let him go. My entire original motivation was to prevent him from damaging Max the GATF anymore, but since their fight they've had zero issues. I've decided I'm keeping Drogo, I'm just too attached to trade him.
I'd eyeball him at 16" or so, though I suspect that he might be a bit more than that, I always seem to underestimate the size of my fish. I really love this guy, he's so shiny and has such nice spots. I still adore his long, showy pelvic fins, too. I just couldn't bring myself to do it!
If I had a nickle for every time someone showed me that video I'd have enough money to buy the rest of my collection. Oddly enough though, between my GATF and arowana, it was the GATF who got thrashed:
But then again, I'm not surprised by the way things played out in that video. The GATF in the video is obviously hungry, very unhealthy and very poorly cared for. He was likely fed live, too. My GATF doesn't even go after feeders unless he's supremely hungry; he's lazy and prefers his pellets. Another VERY important factor is that the video's GATF was significantly larger than the aro. My aro is larger than my GATF and growing faster. It will be many years before Max catches up, IF he ever does.
I am in no way worried about Max hurting Drogo. Drogo knows how to take care of himself.
Love the Black and GATF combo, has to be quite a site seeing them glide back and forth all day long. I say we need a full tank shot and a vid to fully appreciate these guys.
