you should stop now before you look like dayak.....

Why don't you do a little research on drop eye before you go and insult people on a public forums. Hitter the side of the tank sure can cause it but thats defiantly not the only cause

You should do a little research on DE, it would keep you from making foolish posts as below.

The cause of drop eye is by first because of the lights which causes them to look down, also the biggest cause of drop eye feeding too much of fatty foods such as goldfish.

did some deep research thru various website long time ago when i had my silvers and just did quick research on internet as advised and facing dead end..safe to assume no one knows for sure.
but alot of website stated possible due to genetic, overbreeding and fatty food even it mentioned about bright lightning and tank.
MFK is the only one shows up with the head trauma which bring back to your name.

Really then what's your theory on what causes DE? DE is caused by a fat build up behind the eye which causes the eye to be pushed downward.

Wow at least read the posts in the thread which you are posting in.

No where has is been determined what the tissue behind the eye even is, the common assumption is a fat tissue. Even though this is a very illogical place to find fat in any species the animal kingdom.

dayak look harder youll find a site with an arapima that got de. there is some info on it there not only here.

we are taking about arowana here..i know pima could be added as arowana family let say cousin but they are not arowana..guess thats why it dont show up on my quick search also does 99% of pima kept in aquarium has DE like the silver aro?

no they are related and it can happen. they are farmed for food and those farms are were we get our pimas for the trade from so it can be interrelated. they link them together for this topic.
