Have you ever considered putting in a concrete pond that has got heaters in the concrete? I have seen that before and most concrete ponds/tanks that I have read about have got that kind of heating.

Your in So Cal what do you do for raccoon prevention. Have you got a dog in your back yard?

sure a heated concrete pond would be nice, but Im also pleased with my very minimal outlay of cash on this thing- Ill bet I have less than $50 total outlay on this baby...seriously
liner- free-rubber roofing material that was left by subcontractor
pump- free- from a pool service friend
filter- free- cement mixing tub left from another subcontractor
filter media- the floss is fake webs from last halloween, I bought them on november 1st or 2nd- it was a penny for each bag, I bought all they had and got 4 cases for $2.00-

and as far as coons go, I havent seen any, but if I do, Ill treat it with the same lack of kindness and decency as the neighbors cats get treated-

and before anyone complains about the cats that my neighbors had- check out [V]onster ((at I<eepers, I hear theyre looking for some more chicks, and when you get there, maybe you and the girls can figure new ways to keep theyre cats out of my yard- so I dont have to do it for you
