Just read something on arowanas.co.uk saying
"Try to drop food in the tank gradually, a little at the time so that the fish can grab it before it sinks to the bottom (to prevent drop eye syndrome)"

Does this really help prevent drop eye?

No DE has nothing to do with the silver arowana looking down.

unfortunately, no one knows. If it is too bad, just get a black arowana

well i have had in total 12 asian aros and i always feed the way you are saying just 1 mealworm at a time i have never let my aros feed of the bottom and so far i have never had a aro with drop eye

but i have never had a silver :D

DE or no DE cool fish and normally that doesn't effect the fish much though
just might seem that the fish is looking down on you:ROFL:

asian arowanas, black arowanas, jardini do not get drop eye nearly as frequently as silvers. As far as i'm concerned, silvers are the only ones that do

It seems to be a LOT more prominate in silvers than any others but no one's really sure what causes it. I've seen it happen in silvers kept in huge breeding ponds.
