Here's the film from Youtube, wish I knew what they are saying. Not sure if the silver that holding babies at the end is wild or not. The ones at the beginning are though. Notice how there eyes look forward before jumping for the beetle, noway this could happen if they had DE

"forgot who mentioned it, but it seems they get DE from repeated head trauma".

not true.its an excessive build up of fat behind the eye making it drop.I watched a film on arowanas in the wild and half the adults they showed had drop eye.

don't tell me they all jumped and hit there heads on trees:}

on another note i have a 26 inch silver with perfect eyes and he slams the lid with his face all day?
I feed anchovies for the salt in them quite a bit and i dont see ANY sign of DE on my aros. And plus anchovies are REALLY fat. So why dont my aros have DE if its from fat build up?

ive only seen silvers with it, but i dont see why other aros cant get it

Id think that all aros can get it, but personally, ive never seen anything other than a silver having DE. We still dont know exactly why aros get DE though so theres alot of possiblities why its usually silvers with DE.

Sadly Mine started develop drop eye at just 8"!!!

He's currently 12" now.. looks nice no cliff chin ....but sadly the drop eye...

when i got my silver aro it was bumping into the tank and going ape sh*t and after a few hours one of his eyes dropped so im with you on the head trauma thing.
