DSLR camera discussion

I currently have a cannon s90 that I love and takes astounding pics for a p&s but I have heard better things about nikon when it comes to Digital SLR bodies. Any one else agree or disagree with this?


My mom has a D5000 and it take's pretty good pic's
 
I agree with Chonh, both Nikon and Canon will give you amazing results, just depends on how well you now how to use it. If you choose Nikon, I would say go with a used D90 for that price range. Compared to the D5000, it has much better features that make it a better camera.

^^^ agree... and go to camera shop and try them out... :)
 
As with most here, it's really a level playing field for that price range of camera, it's when you get into the pro level price range that there seems to be some pro's and con's on both sides. Glass is where you should spend the money anyway. I would rather have an entry level DSLR with a pro lens than visa versa, IMHO.
