Lol. Not extinct. They seem to be seasonal with only a few collected. The supplier I bought this one from had 2 more last season.

Are you sure it's not a schoutendeni tho, maybe the people not getting them past 5" have a mistaken I.d
 
Rofl. I'm quite sure. Ive grown him from 2" a year ago. Very different. The supplier I bought from is also extremely credible. Oliver Lucanis aka Below Water. I've kept tetraodon schoutedeni, a pair of mbu, fahaka,.... I've been keeping fish for over 20 years.
