Duck eggs!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
good luck, my cousin had ducks that laid eggs and there was one runt duckling that wouldnt eat..... so i took her home and nursed her back to health and every time i left the room she started squeaking and crying for me....... it was kind of annoying.

when i took her back to my cousins house i took her swimming around in the irrigation and she followed me, but not her fellow ducklings. lol i was her mother... ehhhh i mean father

Well I just candled them all, good news is they are all alive and proceeding to grow, bad news, the third egg that got cracked seems to be the farthest into development. The crack isn't bad because it hasn't exposed the membrane. But I hope this egg will make it.

I use to keep and breed mallards. One summer I had a female who hatched a bunch of ducklings. I was cleaning up the nest when I noticed that a remaining egg had a little hole in it. I took it indoors and put it under a lamp. A few hours later it hatched and I was the proud owner of a duckling that thought I was mama. I named it Louie Dog after the dalmation from Sublime (turns out though that Louie was a girl duck).

That duck was one of the coolest pets I ever had. It use to follow me everywhere and when it got bigger I would take it to parties and stuff. Everyone was amazed at how chill this duck was and how it would never leave my side.

She never realized she was a duck and use to chase away her siblings when I'd go down to the pen to feed them. She would even chase my dogs. But in the end not knowing she was a duck and part of the food chain was her downfall. One day when I came home from work Louie had been killed by a hawk. :( It was sad but I guess that's part of life. RIP Louie Dog.

Sorry to hear about that, I used to have a duck when I was very little named Ginger. Was killed by a bobcat. My parents say she was an awesome pet but I've never had a duck since but always wanted one. I'm planning to keep mine inside in a little room that no one uses. I'll let em outside but under supervison. the eggs seems fine, one isn't moving but I can't really see inside of it.So....if that one dies, then the other with the crack...4 more left!? :( Back to where I started...but then again I'm just thinking ahead. The one with the crack definitley isn't, you think it will live with a small dent/crack in it?
