Unfortunately, I bought an in-line clarifier and it is not compatible with a Fx5, only the Fx6 and 7. The piping is completey different size. Would it work as well as it would normally if I got an adapter? Do they even have adapters for this?
Any pics? Should b able to configure what u need to with nylon hose, hose clamps and barbed fittings. Hardware store will have everything u need. Probably easier to replace the entire hose on 1 side (in or out)…Unfortunately, I bought an in-line clarifier and it is not compatible with a Fx5, only the Fx6 and 7. If they do make one for fx5, that’d b easier i suppose. If not…gotta macgiver away lol… ive never used the newer fx6… stupid they ever changed em, the 5’s are tired and true… maybe check the specs and see if its possible to fit 1 fx6 hose on the fx5 if they dont make a clarifier that fits already… all depends what u wanna do really… i have piles of barbed fittings, hose etc. on hand to dig through when this happens. Always many ways to skin the cat lol ??Would it be better to do this or return it and get the right thing, if they have it?
That is what I thought. https://fluvalaquatics.com/us/07-series-canister-filter/I am confused. As far as I know, Fluval Fx5 and FX6 use the same hoses. What is an FX7? Is that a new model? Never heard of it.
I see. I assumed they were the Fx line.I see. That is the new 07 line, similar to their existing 06 series. Neither are Fx line filters. I don’t have any suggestions, but creative hardware store searching should work. Good luck!

That was my thought.aye… bummer… i dont think id step it down like that. Might kill the flow rate of the fx5… i didnt see the pics before i responded. Checked out the product description of what u bought. Its pretty vague and deceiving. “Works with most casister tubes” ?.
