Here is some pictures before paint and after but I screwed up. After I built it, I realized I forgot to check how the tank fit on the bottom. The top was fine as far as the tank sitting ballanced, but the bottom, the tank rocks corner to corner. Is there a way to adjust this easily with a wooden shim perhaps? Any input would be GREATLY appreciated. I also posted a video but you really can't tell much about the ballance problem. :?

thats interesting way to do it.. cheaper i guess..... but this is how I stack my tanks together....

I had some garage metal racks from my storage shed and just freed one up for my duo 55/60 gallon tanks....

Got these at costco for about 70bux.. not bad considering they are very sturdy and have roller wheels on the bottom for moving... Not originally design for fish tanks, but they fit the exact 55/60 gallon width 15" and was long enough for the 3ft...

heres some picture of my early tank transfers.....

Any advice on the balance? That rack idea is a much easier way.

lol... yes..:naughty:

I know a kind of door stoppers like thing from home depot. They kinda look like trapezoid shape.... its meant for construction when u want to balance plywood or any home improvement projects.. i know they have some in wood and plastic ones...

That's as best i can suggest to balance the stand.. I actually use some for my 150gallon stand.. my patio floor isn't balance and needed something to stabilize it from tipping over.... ur stand looks okie.. but if u want a taller one like eye level.. then u should consider the metal racks.... i know for sure they sell them in Costco.. i think theres one around Omaha Nebraska ya??? I just did a costco store loction search...

look for them in the tools/ shed aisle

I think your misunderstanding me, the tank itself doesn't sit flush on all 4 corners to the stand, only 3 corners touch at one given time and it seems to be off by 1/16" or so. So shimming the stand wouldn't help at all.
sanding down a 2x4 may be a awful never ending experience especially since I was dumb and moved it up to my apartment already. Is there like a thick rubber matt I could place all the way across on each side to make it snug?
Thanks

i think adding another extension on the bottom leg is the best way.... to make it balance... cuz you'll always be having problem with the stand if only 3 legs are balanced... i would cut a piece of wood about the size of ur leg and just nail it on... thats the best i can think of.... good luck!

I had the same problem with a regular metal tank stand with the bottom tank and I used foam installation under the tank and now is fine.

Once again, I must not be clear so I will try another route. The stand is fine, level and all. The problem is when I placed the empty tank on the stand, it rocks corner to corner having nothing to do with how level the stand is leg to leg, it's a matter of the 2x4's the tank actually sits on not being straight and flush with one another. At work, I have access to 1/2" 2 foot long rubber bar matts, I will place them along the 2x4's so when the tank sits on them, they will give enough on either side so that it sits level. I am hoping this will do the trick.
