My Little Dumerils hasn't eaten since 10/26.
Been trying to figure it out and She's making me nervous!
She's in a 40g breeder with half the bottom warmed with a heating pad. I added a 100W ceramic lamp in addition to the 60w inc light used for regular day/night cycle. She never, ever sits over the heating pad so she's effectively only using half the enclosure.
She remains buried pretty much all the time and has been eating F/T med mice. She will cruise for a few hours at night but won't strike at a mouse! Sometimes she looks really interested, sometimes she just turns away. I use tongs and a little wiggle to entice her but she just won't strike.
I suppose it's the change in temp because we did get a cold snap right around the end of Oct. I really can't get the surface temp over 80 deg without baking her.
I suppose I should try feeding live but I can't really see this working. Dumerils are ambush hunters so she really shouldn't pay much attention unless the mouse comes within striking distance. Dangling a live mouse shouldn't be any different than dangling a dead mouse, know what I mean?
In any case, she has me a little worried.
