Just Friends...

They just sit up on the glass, or hide in the moss.

They're totally active at night though.

When I come home from the bar, I sometimes see them out hopping around.

Oh! I love those little guys, I have wanted one for some time now. I got an empty 10 gallon laying around... perhaps I should get a tree froggy..

why not get a toad or salamander or something more active instead? man ive kept some 2-3" toad species, those things totally rock. hunt down crickets right in front of you, and the bigger ones can be fed pinkies. not to mention you can hold them and let em crawl around, no problem. great pets.

Ya, I had fire newts and fire belly toads.
They are quite active, and don't get as big as a dumpy.
I wouldn't put a dumpy in anything smaller then a 20 gallon high.
They can get pretty big and fat.

I have a spotted tiger legged frog
(Kassina senegalensis) and tomato frog (Dyscophus antongili) in there with them, they never come out.

nice
i used to work with a pair at the university

They have sone smallish native that are pretty colorful out in the Jersey pine barrens.

I work with two dumpies, i'd like to think they are a pait but i'm not going to hold my breath on it. They are in a 30 high with a waterfall drift wood, over glorified UG filter and peace lillies. I"ll have to post a pic of the set up when i get a digi cam. I'm really rather proud of it. They are great frogs but i still like "Tiny" my african bull frog a bit more. It doesnt get any easier than somethign that eats once every ten days and sleeps six months a year. :) the dumpies have a much high cute factory though. Hell i like all critters.
Anyhow any tips on trying to sort males from female dumpies?
