How about a yellow prawn goby (Cryptocentrus cinctus) and a firefish (Nemateleotris magnifica)?

The goby would keep the sand stirred up plus it can form a symbiotic relationship with a pistol shrimp. The firefish is pretty colorful and would cover the mid-level activity category quite nicely. Both fish stay pretty small (3") and are peaceful and reef-safe.

I do like this idea...
Could I get a pair of firefish?

Yeah, that's what I mean. :D

Alright.
Thanks for your input!

Ehhhhh I don't think I would do a scooter blenny...Since its just another species of mandarin (correct?) and it would be a new and very small tank...
The scooter would not last long in a 10 gallon without dosing a large amount of pods every day, which gets real expensive.

In a ten gallon, I would be tempted to do a goby/pistol shrimp and a bangai cardinal

I don't see why not then.

I'd say wait for FLESHY or another more experienced saltwater fish keeper to chime in just to be 100% sure that three fish (goby and pair of firefish) isn't too many for a 10 gallon aquarium.

Good posting on this thread for the most part wiggles! And thanks for the recommendation.

I could see a pair of clowns, and maybe a small blenny. The only problem with the clowns is as they get bigger they might become territorial.

Small gobies, blennies, etc make good fish for these tanks. There is no reason that you cant have 10" of fish in a 10g tank, as long as you stock it and maintain it properly.

This is a very good recommendation. I would try to get a pair of bangs though...babies would be cool. :D
